Dr Sanjiv Saigal is working as Principal Director and Head, Hepatology and Liver Transplant Medicine at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India. A skilled hepatologist, he has spearheaded the medical team of liver transplantation in one of the largest liver transplant programs in India for over 20 years now, with an experience in dealing with more than 3400 liver transplants. He is instrumental in establishing the first successful Transplant Hepatology program in India.
He had been the Section Editor for Liver, Doctor NDTV. He is a Member of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, Edinburgh). He is also Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS), New Delhi. He has been the Governing Council Member of Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL), and a member of several National Task Forces in diseases such as Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Acute Liver Failure, Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
